Is this a blackout tent or is it only with the viewing window?
Only has giant window in front with zipper. That is my biggest complaint. I wish there was an optional panel or something. Right now I hang a towel on it. Or it has wheels so I might turn it around and face the wall and turn back around to work in it.

i saw this online and thought it was a nice setup, i do mostly vegetables but wanted this for germinating cactus seeds in the fall and allowing them to remain in a more controlled environment for 4-5 months before moving them to the greenhouse in spring. the price was about $60 cheaper directly from SF than from Amazon so i ordered it here and it was delivered in a little over a week.
assembly is straight forward (i’d already watched a few videos online so instructions were unnecessary) and i had it assembled in about 20 min by myself. everything fit perfectly, no issues with wrong size wheels and the other things i’d read in some reviews i’d seen. quality is good and it’s sturdy and easily rolls around on the wheels.
my only ‘complaint’ i guess you could call it was that the top shelf is useless as designed. if you place it at the full top, it does nothing but support a light so you really only have a 3 tier system, not a true 4. to overcome this issue i cut a sheet of 1/4″ plywood 13.75in x 28in and it fits perfectly into the top of the tent and rests on the 4 posts without the worry of it moving and falling off. you can attach a separate grow light to the plywood (the kit only has 3 sets of lights) and then the top wire shelf becomes a true 4 tier system with roughly 12 inches between shelves, perfect for a germination setup.
after making the above mod i liked the stand so much i ordered a second one. i found an affordable 4 light daisy chain grow light on Amazon so i had the two extra lights from the first stand to go into a second one.
I also put the lights on two separate timer circuits, with strategic placement of the daisy chain cords you can have the lights near the front of the stand and the ones at the back come on/off at different times for when seedlings are young and need less light, then have both on at the same time when they need more lighting as they grow.
this is a great setup and if SF would include a few extra lights and the wooden shelf for the top this would be a far better value and a lot more versatile.
The shelves are just the standard metal shelving you get at walmart and assemble the same way. The tent is very good quality, good zippers, fits perfectly. The trays are unusual but work perfectly as well. It all goes together quite well. I would like to know if I can get replacement light strips, a heater, and a timer.
It didn’t come with instructions and I didn’t search terribly hard for a potential QR code, but was super simple to figure out!! The product photos on here were easy to match. Took about an hour and was very intuitive to put together. Easy to adjust tray levels even after the cover is on. Looks SOO MUCH nicer than my old plain garden tent (which can go back outside now for hardening off seedlings for the outside garden 💚). Paired with a outlet timer, this was absolutely worth the purchase. Elevated my indoor plant game immensely. Incredibly sturdy! Perfect size (medium one)! Not blindingly bright and the solid sides help from lighting up the whole room. The wheels are very sturdy and overall I love the whole thing 10/10 functionality! Materials feel very well made and doesn’t come with an overpowering smell like other rubber/plastic tents. My only potential complaint is might have to replace the main zipper in a year or two after lots and lots of use – easy fix (if you don’t know how to sew, watch some YouTube or call a friend). I can see this being the last tent I buy for my houseplants and the potential repairs are worth that.
I’m considering buying a second. This one was a win. Kind of a pain to get it all put together, but pretty nice quality for the price and is working fantastic! I had no issues. Everything works great and seems decent quality.
